At the end of May, the Pancake Week was even more successful than expected. Most of all, we are pleased that during that week the primary mission of our gallery was really brought to the fore: to bring together many "first baller" came to us to take a step towards contemporary art. And of course, our regulars were not far behind, with the number of visitors to our gallery doubling on the days of our open week!
It is perhaps not only interesting for us that the rise of online commerce has not even spared the fine arts: we have received inquiries and orders from almost all over the country. Indeed, we are doing a lot to make our gallery's offer and the works of our artists known to the art-loving public living in the countryside, as we send our exhibitions to many venues throughout the country.
700 works of art awaited those who visited us during our gallery open week. Although our customers came with different goals, they all left with the common experience of finding a piece of art that met their needs, their tastes or their heart's desire. Collectors sought to expand their collections, others wanted to furnish their homes with sophisticated solutions, and a surprising number of "treasure hunters" came to us looking for a precious and lifelong gift for their loved ones and friends.
Despite the ever-changing fads and trends that characterise contemporary art, almost every style, genre and creative technique is in demand. We have had to say goodbye to surreal and figurative works as well as to landscapes; works by well-known and popular artists have found their owners, as have new works by yet-to-be-discovered painters and sculptors.
For our playful enthusiasts, we also have On our Facebook page a series of puzzles was also waiting for you. Dániel Ludvig, Zsolt Fekete, Attila Boros and Angéla Micsik each hid one of their works in four pictures, making a small part of each picture visible. The solution to the puzzles was to find the titles and the creator of the hidden pictures. The clever players visited our website for the solutions, where you can find photos and details of all the works of art we exhibited. At the end of the game and the week of the Vándorfény, we drew lots for the correct answers to win Zsolt Fekete's Harmónia.
Andrea Obermayer was delighted - and so were those who, thanks to the game, were able to enjoy the works of four contemporary artists.
