This is the third year in a row that we have made it a tradition to invite our audiences to celebrate art once a year, around May. For a whole week at the end of May, we open the doors of our downtown gallery on Kossuth Street and welcome new and returning guests as an open space for visual art.
From 22 to 28 May (and beyond), anyone who decides to make friends with the visual arts and decorate their home with works by contemporary artists is welcome to visit us. During the week-long holiday, nearly 700 works of art will fill the exhibition spaces of our gallery. Our aim is to bring art into the homes of our audiences, because the art that our galleries bring to the public is only 'at home' when it can fulfil its important function of being a valuable ornament to our living spaces.
Our gallery still adheres to its founding mission to help people learn about and love contemporary art. In this spirit, we are organising our Open Days next week, from 22 to 28 May, art-loving visitors will be able to buy from us on special terms: every customer who finds a favourite among the 700 works on offer will be able to choose one more to receive as a gift. In all cases, you will have to pay for the higher priced piece. In addition, in order to give those returning home from work the opportunity to spend time in our gallery, we have extended opening hours, so those who are thirsty for art can visit us every day of the week between 10am and 7pm.
Talking of thirst! In order to make the festive week really fun, we offer champagne, coffee and soft drinks to all visitors entering the gallery! After all, enjoying art requires us to stop, relax, take a deep breath, clear our heads of the noise of everyday life and turn our attention to harmony and beauty.
It's the perfect time to dress up that bare wall in the living room and add a little art to the cosiness of your home, or the perfect opportunity to choose a wedding or anniversary gift, one that has lasting value and will preserve something of the moment of giving.
