Ágnes Garabuczy

Ágnes Garabuczy was born in Vésztő, in 1936. She studied at the Fine Arts High School in Budapest, then at the Academy of Fine Arts. Her master was Bertalan Pór.She graduated in 1960.

Exhibiting artist since 1961. He is a lyrical figurative painter. His paintings are personal confessions of our past and present. An outstanding representative of the "great generation" of Hungarian contemporary art. She is a characteristic blend of the conventions of modern and classical art, a world with a female soul, the lyrical visions of a true woman painter.
Use all the tones of blue in the images he envisages, and this is accentuated or counterpointed by the complementary yellows in his works. He rarely uses garish colours because his imagination requires the softness of pale tones. In his paintings, he searches for the Proustian lost time, evoking his imagination on the ground of dreams and revealing his visions by painting them on canvas. Captivating and enchanting the viewer on the plane of reason and emotion.

Ágnes Garabuczy says of herself. "...I would like to open a symbolic gateway through the layers of time, where the viewer can enter - a strange, mythical world woven of memory and dream fragments, hiding secrets - where the music of colours embraces..."
